Translation Comparison

We receive many questions about using translation software or the free translation services that are available on some websites.  These services are fine for short, informal sentences or phrases.  But if you are translating a business letter, manual or other document where accuracy is important, you should use a professional translator.

The comparison below is a vivid example of the advantage of using a certified translator. These comparisons were made using a brief, intra-company e-mail note.  Judge the results for yourself.

Original Spanish e-mail note

Aquí te mando el Programa Bancario. Añadí nuevas ideas para implementarlo y también algunos cambios. Traduje aquéllas oraciones que tenías en blanco (sin traducción alguna).  Déjame saber que te parece.

Internet "Free Translation":

Here I send the Banking Program to you. I added new ideas to also implement it and some changes. I translated those orations that you had in target (without translation some). Déjame to know that it seems to you.

Software Translation:

Here you command the Banking Program. I added new ideas to implement it and also some changes. I translated aquéllas prayers that you had in white (without any translation). You leave me to know that seems.

Certified Translator Translation:

I am sending the Banking Program to you. I added some new ideas in order to make it better and I also made a few changes to it.  I translated those sentences that were blank (without any translation).  Let me know what you think about it.
