If you are having difficulty communication with Spanish-speaking patients & their families, we suggest taking a hard look at our Spanish learning materials. While foreign language services are mandated by federal law, medical interpreters are not always available, and are often involved with very critical cases, leaving other clinical and administrative staff with a frustrating language barrier.
